  • LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN (1770-1827)
    String Quartet Op. 131 in C# minor (composed 1826)

    Filmed December 2021 in the Primrose Potter Salon, Melbourne Recital Centre

    Revered by Schubert, loved by string players, and inspiration for countless composers, this quartet was the inspiration behind the 2012 film “A Late Quartet”. Written to be played without a break, the seven movements segue seamlessly in an intensely satisfying marathon of emotion, intelligence and sheer beauty.
